My grandpa was in the US Navy-and while stationed in Japan he often did favors for local Japanese folks at the shipping dock- fix up their boats, scrape the algae, lend tools. Someone particularly grateful gifted him several pieces of jade jewelry and carved jade buddahs as a thankyou.
Many years later he gifts them to me. And I’ve been wearing a particular little jade stone around my neck for a decade. I think it’s kept me safe. And even though the older I get, I tend to become callused towards mysticism.. I am hanging on to the magic that time has waged into this stone- compassion, calm, heart, and healing.
